Acer Tempo X960

At the MWC 2009, Acer announced a host of touchscreen smartphones, one of which is the Acer Tempo X960.
The Acer Tempo X960 has GPS functionality, a home screen based mainly on using widgets and a 3.2 megapixel snapper. The Acer Tempo X960 runs on the Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system, which is quite a disappointment considering the fact that a lot of people expected Acer to put up version 6.5 for the phones.
Users can control their e-mail, surf the internet with ease, make use of social networks and use other such messaging features like MMS and SMS. The X960 has been designed keeping the adventurous in mind too, and have also included a GPS chip on the phone so that you can navigate yourself through anywhere.
The Acer Tempo X960 sports a 2.8 inch VGA touchscreen, and also has a physical 5 way navigation pad which enables you to get through menus with a lot of ease. The home screen, fully ‘invaded’ by widgets, enables the user to access contacts, messages, emails, weather all over the world, calendar, the web browser and the music player with just a single click. The 3.2 Megapixel autofocus camera also has a flash included and a secondary camera which enables you to make video (3G) calls if it is supported by your home network.
According to Acer, the Tempo X960 can handle up to 4 hours of talk time on a single charge. The onboard RAM is 128MB, and there is 256MBs of RAM available. A microSD card slot is available for extending the memory capacity of the phone.
Acer have not released any details whatsoever with regard to the availability of the phone or its expected retail price.
