Sony Ericsson Aino-One of a kind!

Sony Ericsson AinoThe Sony Ericsson Aino is one of the new media user centered phones to hit the market this year. Featuring in the mid range of the price spectrum, its striking appearance and top class features are bound to create an impression. It is likely to hit the market sometime later in the fourth quarter of this year.

Featuring a full touch screen, the Sony Ericsson Aino is easy to navigate through. The 15.5 mm thickness is one of its biggest disadvantages, as this makes the phone quite bulky for a phone of its class. This along with the fact that it weighs in at 134 g, makes it difficult to stash the Sony Ericsson Aino away in your pocket or in a small bag. Even if you manage to stash it away, it is guaranteed to weigh you down! The TFT touch screen however is relay good as it allows up to 16 million colors to be displayed. This screen measures 3 inches diagonally. Viewing media on the display is a treat for the eyes, and you can even rotate the screen to view the same media in landscape view if you want to.

As this phone feature a slider form factor, you have to slide out the keypad from below the screen. This keypad is quite easy to use as the keys and nice and large, well apart from each other. The onboard memory of 55MB is quite useful as you can run graphic applications without having too much of a problem. To store an extensive music library, you have to make use of the microSD memory card slot as you can use this to expand the memory up to 16 GB. The range of connectivity options complete the utility of this phone as you can access GPRS, HSCSD and Wi-Fi networks. The Sony Ericsson Aino has an 8MP camera too!

Sony Ericsson Aino. Lessons from granny

  • 3G
  • WiFi
  • 8MP camera
  • Very decent battery time

…start as you mean to go on is something our gran always told us, and seeing as how the only way we’ve been able to get our head around the sheer number of things the Sony Ericsson Aino’s promising is to listulate it (that means to make into a list, obviously), we thought we’d do just that. Anyway, the more vital list runs as follows:

  • Remote Play – Basically, Remote Play gives you access to all your PS3’s media content on your Aino. Whether at home and linked in to your usual network, or anywhere else in the world where you can get a decent internet connection, you can access all that stored PS3 goodness in an instant
  • PlayTVservice – Again, a PS3-owners one. You’ll know that you can watch certain free TV channels on it , but now with the Aino you can watch these channels on the phone itself, just by hooking up via the internet. Impressive
  • Media Go – A simple way of controlling (i.e. watching / playing / transferring) all the media files on home computer using the Aino itself as a kind of funky little remote control
  • Media Home – a means of Synchronising your PC with your phone to make sure you’ve everything you want with you, wherever you go.

The Sony Ericsson Aino, then is about as media-tastic as it gets. And luckily, as that first list at the top suggests, it ticks all the other boxes you might want ticking too. Keep an eye out, but this should be released sometime in the autumn. In the meantime, check out the teaser of a video below, or just have a look at this Sony Ericsson Aino review.

Sony Ericsson Aino, the PSP phone?

Sony Ericsson seems to be doing pretty well in the looks department as far as mobile phones are concerned. The announcement of the Sony Ericsson Aino marks yet another handset that is destined to become a firm favourite with Son Ericsson lovers everywhere.
So what is so special about the Sony Ericsson Aino? Well it seems that Sony are keen to create a phone that will work alongside its PS3 console. The Aino does just that, allowing users to control their PS3 remotely using their mobile device. So is this the rumoured PSP phone? Sadly not, although it will allow users to interact with their PS3 when they are not in the room. The only feature that I have found so far is the ability to turn your PS3 on or off, but I am sure that plenty more features will be announced in due course.
But what is you can’t wait for this handset to be released? Then we suggest you try one of the Sony Ericsson W995 deals that are available to consumers right now. Okay it won’t turn your PS3 on or off, but you do get an impressive 8.1 megapixel camera and all those great walkman features that we have come to know and love from Sony Ericsson.
