Nokia X6 16GB Released

Nokia X6There are many reasons why you should get a Nokia branded mobile phone. Not only is the device a product of the largest mobile phone manufacturer in the world, but they are also the most eco-friendly electronics company in the world (as ranked by Greenpeace; Sony Ericsson ranks a close second).

Anyway, value wise, it is hard to go wrong with a Nokia smart phone and given the fact that just recently, the Finnish company announced that they would be offering free sat nav GPS services for all their compatible devices. Now, every single Nokia smart phone with Ovi Maps can work as a dedicated GPS device.

Anyway, just a few months ago, Nokia released the X6 music phone. The 32GB smart phone was designed for music fans and came with a special “Comes with Music” deal which allowed users to download from the Nokia Music Store for free. While it was a great offer for music fans, it was still a pretty expensive deal and not that many people are willing to shell out so much just for a music phone.

Nokia now addresses this by introducing the new Nokia X6 16GB version. Specs wise, the two phones are pretty similar. The X6 comes with a 3.2 inch touch screen display that handles images and videos well. It also has a 5 mega pixel camera that takes high quality photos for uploading and sharing (the Carl Zeiss lens does a great job of bringing detail into images).

Music fans will certainly enjoy the 36 hours of continuous music playback and since the device will not come with the unlimited downloads deal, Nokia offers 25 free tracks to X6 16GB users instead. The phone is expected to arrive on February 24.

Touchscreen + Music = Nokia X6

Nokia X6Music just got better with the unveiling of the Nokia X6, which has a 3.2 inch touchscreen and 32 GB of internal memory in addition to 35 hours of continuous music playback. As if all this wasn’t mind – blowing enough, the design is just good enough to trash the Nokia 5800 and the likes. The phone has a really sleek and sexy design and the design is such that there is no way that you can keep your eyes of it. It is just under 14 mm thin, but this doesn’t indicate a lack of features as the variety of features is bound to leave you in no doubt whatsoever what you will get when the phone is released before Christmas. Better than this is the fact that the X6 will come with the Comes With Music service, meaning that you will be able to listen to as much music as you want without having to pay for it!

The 3.2 inch widescreen display has been optimized to view videos and photos, which shows that the phone isn’t just about music only. You can put upto 20 friends on your homescreen and you can also set the screen in such a way that you will get one – touch access to facebook as well as other social networks.

The other highlights of the phone include 16 days standby time, TV-out, 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, dual LED flash, online sharing, video editing, a full web browser, the Nokia Music store and support for Flash Lite. Can’t get enough of it? The spec’s sheet continues with Ovi Maps, A-GPS and Playlist DJ. If you are into games, then you can play DJ Mix Tour, Spore and Asphalt4.

The Nokia X6 should be available in the 4th quarter of 2009 for an estimated retail price of 420 pounds. Nokia X6 Reviews have been good, so make sure you have the cash in hand to purchase it when it is released or you could opt for a Nokia X6 contract instead.

Nokia X6. The Selfridges of phones

Sometimes phones just have win written all over them.

Not literally, of course.

If someone tried writing on our phone we’d probably punch them. Or at least, imagine punching them in some kind of elaborate scenario that also resulted in us going home with the barmaid from our local who happened to be there, then going home and using some non-corrosive cleaner to clean the writing off our phone.

But anyway, in a metaphorical sense, some phones have win written all over them and one of those phones currently sites right in front of us: the Nokia X6. It’s not immediately clear why, as, despite the best lies – sorry – best efforts of their press release, the Nokia X6 is not a ’sexy’ or a ’slim’ phone. However, it is alright in the looks department, and we’re alright with alright. Where it gets really exciting though is in the two departments that we think are also going to get a lot of you excited too: the music department (ground floor, next to the lingerie) and the interneting department (second floor, next to the toilets).

First up: there isn’t a better music phone out there. That was brief, wasn’t it. But that’s honestly all that needs to be said (though more is said in this Nokia X6 review if you wants some backing up of such bold statements). Second up: with Nokia’s fab little browser, a bunch of apps designed to make linking into you Facebook / Twitter / Myspace / [insert cool new thing that we haven't heard of yet here] as easy as sending a text, this thing will make you feel more connected that, say, a plug that’s been superglued into a wall socket.

Sounds like your kind of thing? Thought you’d say that… so get your virtual arse over to these Nokia X6 deals pronto.
