Ballmer is Proud of Microsoft’s New Products

Microsoft’s Steve Ballmer says that Windows Phone 7 is going to be good not only for the general users, but also for specific markets as well, and it all starts with the new services that MS is going to offer in the coming months.

At the Worldwide Partners Conference, Microsoft was proud to announce that the new Windows Phone 7 mobile platform was not only months away, but it is going to completely change the reputation that Microsoft has in the smart phone industry. Originally, many felt that Microsoft’s Windows Mobile operating system was simply not meant for general users. And it was not. Microsoft was second only to BlackBerry in terms of control of the business market –a range with far different needs and taste than general mobile phone users.

But as more and more people switched to using smart phones, the pressure was on Microsoft to find ways to adapt to new users. Despite the Windows Mobile 6.5.3 update which developed support for capacitive touch screen controls, the OS was still predominantly based on the old WinMo OS. With the WP7, the developers of MS get to start fresh, and the results show it.

Aside from the integrated social networking capabilities of the handset and what might be special pre-installed applications, Microsoft is also going to establish the Windows Phone Live service, which is exactly the same as the Apple MobileMe; except that Microsoft’s service is going to be offered for free. According to Ballmer, Microsoft will allow users to sync and back up their messages, contact information and other important phone data online without having to pay any fees (though it is believed that the service would only be free for a limited time –like for the duration of a contract).

Various reports indicate that the new Microsoft mobile OS will be released by September this year.

Blackberry Curve 8520. Fail?

The Curve is already the number 1 selling smartphone in the US, but the Blackberry 8520 is set to make RIM a whole bunch more money in the near future. Some have already branded this thing a ‘failure’, but we think those branders are, well, idiots. Because even without the 3G, even with a crappy camera, even without a few of the things that make the top-end Blackberries so very special, we think this thing is going to sell like hot cakes.

Only a couple of years ago, there was only one thing people wanted from phones: sleekness. Handsets were basically judged on how sleek / slim they were. All anyone wanted was the lightest / most shiny / least thick, so that’s all that manufacturers spent their times developing. However, times have changed, and even at the expense of looks, manufacturers are bowing to a change in pressure and making phones that actually favour function over form. The Blackberries, for example, have never even been close to attractive, and the Blackberry Curve 8520 is no exception. But what it is is the cheapest ever Blackberry. Nuff said, really. Full QWERTY, half-decent internet options, cool new trackpad… and all for far less than you’d ever imagined a phone like this could be, as you’ll find when you have a squizz at these Blackberry curve 8520 deals. Obviously you’ve not got all the features and gadgets that a full price Blackberry offers (check out this Blackberry Curve 8520 review for the full lowdown) but even with that in mind, the 8520 is going to do very well indeed.

August Mobile phone bargain contracts

So the summer is coming to an end, yet we seem to be enjoying some rare sunshine here in the UK. To celebrate this rarity we have decided to put together a list of our 8 favourite mobile phones and the best deals that are available with them. We might make this a regular feature, it just depends how useful you guys think it is. So let’s get started.
1. Nokia N97 deals – The hottest Nokia mobile phone out there right now. Yes it has a few problems, but nothing a few firmware updates will sort out. You can get a free ipod shuffle on T-Mobile with 800 minutes and unlimited texts for under £40.00 per month.
2. HTC Hero deals – Android is the way forward and the HTC Hero is the best of the lot. At £15 per month cheaper than the N97 it is worthy of the number 2 spot. You do only get 400 minutes per month though.
3. HTC Touch diamond 2 deals – much improved from the original Diamond, we really like the interface on this phone. £30.00 per month on O2 is the one to beat here, with 400 minutes and 500 texts.
4. Sony W995 deals – The best Sony Ericsson phone available in the market at the moment. You get music, camera and a sleek design all rolled into one. And for a little of £21.00 per month on Orange we think that it is a bargain.
5. Blackberry 8520 deals -No list would be complete without a Blackberry. The new 8520 is a slimmer sleeker version of the older models and we are very impressed with it. There is a deal with Orange offering £170 cashback on a £35.00 per month deal, so now is the time to grab this one whilst its cheap.
6. Nokia 5530 deals – Wow this is a cheap mobile phone. Vodafone are offering this one with 600 minutes and unlimited texts for just £21.00 per month, an absolute bargain.
7. Samsung Jet deals – The new addition to Android community has been well received and if you are looking for an alternative to HTC this one needs to be considered. Grab it O2 for £29.35 per month on O2 or £21.20 on Orange if you don’t mind cashback deals.
8. Nokia N86 deals – Gamers delight in this fabulous handset. Yes there are cheaper Nokia phones out there, but if you like to game then this one is a must. Vodafone are offering it for £31.00 with 600 minutes unlimited texts.
So there you have it our run down of the best mobile phones with the best deals. It is probably worth bearing in mind that these offer change quickly so grab them whilst they are still around.

Smartphone sector grows, as other mobile markets fall.

The end of 2008 saw an average decline of handset demand by approximately 7%. People were opting to move onto cheaper tariffs rather than take out new mobile phone deals a recent report has said. There were some areas of growth, particularly relating to smartphones, an area that has seen year on year growth over recent periods. Phones such as the Blackberry 8900 curve are proving to be very popular with business men and women, as is the Samsung Pixon a smartphone launched by the Korean giants before Christmas. There are also some major releases expected this year of course. The Nokia N97 is expected to be Nokia’s biggest selling handset of 2009 in the smartphone arena. It will take advantage of the new Simbian platform and will come complete with a full qwerty keypad and a touch screen. We think that these handsets which are free on many of the higher end mobile phone contracts will start to take the market by storm as other sectors falter. These are 3 of the best in our opinion.

A Closer Look at the Blackberry Storm

The brand new Blackberry Storm is a great new high end phone from Blackberry which is set to do very well this year and next. The features on this phone include a 3.2 mega pixel camera, GPS navigation and high speed internet. The phone has a lot to offer in terms of its features and its looks. I’ve never seen such a beautiful Blackberry. I’ve read a lot of Blackberry Storm reviews and most seem to indicate that this phone really does have a lot to offer and that it’ll definitely sell very well whether as an upgrade phone or from people buying it out right because they want it so much.
I’ve seen a lot of Blackberry Storm deals available and I think that if you’re lucky you can get the Blackberry Storm contract phone for free on most networks and you should definitely be able to upgrade for free. I’ve also noticed that mobile phone deals in general are getting better and better and I think that is because Christmas is getting closer and of course that means prices will be low and then when the January sales hit they’ll go even lower. I really like the Blackberry Storm and I think it has a lot to offer personal and business users who want a high end phone.
All in all, the Blackberry Storm is a great phone and has a lot to offer. I think the thing about this phone is that it doesn’t look like a Blackberry until you see the logo and I think the new design will appear to a broader range of people. I’ve seen a Blackberry Storm 9500 video review which is definitely worth watching if you’re interested in this phone. You will be able to get a closer look at the features and a sneak peek at the phone in action before you buy it. I’d highly recommend this phone to any personal or business user any day of the week.

The Powerful Blackberry Thunder – iPhones only rival?

The recently released Blackberry Thunder 9500 is set to be iPhone’s major competition and I think a lot of people are interested to see if this phone can live up to its rivalry. The phone itself will be equipped with all sorts of features including a 3.2 mega pixel camera, Windows media Player and iTunes compatibility as well as a whole host of other features such as 4G support, WiFi, GPS and much more. I’ve read a lot of Blackberry Thunder 9500 reviewsand I have to say that they all seem pretty positive and I can’t see much wrong with this phone at all so far. I’m so excited for the release of this phone because it’s about time someone put Apple in their place.
I have no doubt in my mind that there will be a lot of Blackberry Thunder deals and I think you’ll be pleased to hear that the Blackberry Thunder contract phone is likely to be available for free as an upgrade on most networks. I have to say that I have noticed that mobile phone deals in general are getting much better and cheaper as we get closer to Christmas and I think they’ll stay that way all the way through the January sales so you should be able to get hold of a bargain.
Overall, the Blackberry Thunder is a great phone in my opinion and I think it’ll do very well up against the iPhone. It has a lot more meat to it than the iPhone and it seems to be a much more powerful phone. I saw a Blackberry Thunder video review which is definitely worth watching if you’re interested in this phone. It has all the features explained and you’ll be able to have a closer look at the phone in action before you buy it. In my opinion, the Blackberry Thunder is one of the most anticipated releases this year.
