2010 Looks Like Another Busy Year For Nokia
Nokia 6700 Slide and Nokia 7230 announced. The giant phone company introduced two new mobile phones to the market, both 3G Sliders. The Nokia 6700 and then Nokia 7230, the aforementioned, brand new handsets have been introduced to the market at low to mid-range price points. Both are being prepared for sale during the early part of 2010.
The Nokia 6700 is a pretty feature rich phone and is being sold at about €160. It offers users a 16.7 million color display, 2.2″ QVGA display screen, VGA video recording and a 5 megapixel camera. Users will be able edit photos and also upload them to the internet. It has a FM radio, music player and internal memory of 45 MB, which can be expanded an additional 16GB with the use of a microSD card.
The Nokia 7230 does not have as much to offer as the Nokia 6700 and the price reflects that. This phone is about €60 cheaper. It has a 2.4″ display screen with 267k color display. It comes with a FM radio, alerts for messages and calls. The 7230 also has messaging and its 3.2 megapixel camera comes with a dedicated key.
The price for that the Nokia 6700 is currently at €160. The Nokia 7230 is price at €100. Neither of the phones is available for purchase just yet but Nokia is planning to have them in retail stores, globally, sometime during the first quarter of 2010.
It will be interesting to see how both phones fare when they are finally released. The mobile market is so crowded and so many products are being rolled out on such a consistent basis that it may become difficult to move units especially when some countries are struggling with recessions. Buyers, even tech freaks, are struggling to keep up. At some point, the market will undoubtedly become saturated and mobile phone companies will have to come up with ways to make their products even more unique and purchase worthy.
