Going where other phones have gone before, the Sony Ericsson C903

Sony Ericsson has released a middle of the road phone that goes by the name of the Sony Ericsson C903. As with all mobile phones there is a ruck of specifications that come with this phone, but to be honest I’m best pointing you to the official page for more detailed information.
The key specs for the C903 are as follows. A 5 megapixel camera with dedicated camera keys. A 2.4inch screen, smile shutter , best pic, face detection and a massive 16X digital zoom. Sony Ericsson have stated in their press release that this is intended to be a mid range phone, so you can expect to get it for free on Idou, but then you can expect to wait a while for that little baby and pay a hefty price for the privilege of owning it as well.

Samsung Tocco Ultra Edition announced at the Mobile World Congress

The newest mobile phone out of the labs of Samsung is the all singing all dancing Samsung S8300 Tocco Ultra. This rather long winded name suggests that there is an improved version of the older Tocco in the offering. And you would be right. The new Tocco Ultra has some pretty nifty new features that are sure to make this handset a sure fire winner for consumers in the UK.
So what do you get that is different in the Samsung S8300? The first thing to note is the slide out keyboard. Samsung has decided to do away with the traditional design of a touch screen only setup and decided to add the old fashioned keyboard as well. This does make sense, as using a mobile phone that only has a touch screen can be incredibly tedious when writing text messages and emails.
You also get a much improved 8 megapixel camera, with an LED flash, which is not the best, but will suffice. We reckon if you are interested in going for a camera phone though, you would be better off waiting for the Sony Ericsson Idou due to be released at the end of the year. However you do also get a video recorder that is capable of recording at 30 frames per second.
You can see the Tocco Ultra in action in this video. We think it looks pretty awesome, but would appreciate your thoughts in the comments below:

New LG KM900 Arena Video Straight from MWC

This is hot off the press folks. We have the demonstration of the brand new LG Arena KM900 at the Mobile World Congress. LG really seem to be stepping it up a gear with a superb new user interface (even if it does look a little like the Iphone). However they are dubbing it the “S-Class 3D UI”. Well rather than let me babble on about it why not check out the video for yourself.

The System used on the LG Arena is said to be unique to LG, with a 3D sliding interface. It certainly looks very impressive and slick. As this was a live demonstration we also reckon that the processing power can live up to the expectations of its users. When the phone is finally released you can find the best deals for the KM900 on the following networks by following these links:

We hope you enjoy this phone as much as we do!

Toshiba enters the mobile phone race with the TG01

Touch Screen mobile phones are all the rage at the moment, so it didn’t surprise us when Toshiba announced that they were wading into the market with the Toshiba TG01. We have to say that it is not a bad first effort from Toshiba as they look to take their experience from the TV industry and pack it into a tiny mobile device. The Toshiba TG01 sports a massive 4.1 inch screen which is larger than that of the Tmobile G1 and even bigger than the newly announced LG Arena. This in theory means that making the best use of your media applications will be a much more enjoyable experience for those using the mobile phone.
Another selling point for the TG01 is the fact that it comes with the fastest processor of any mobile phone to date. At 1 GHZ it should make light weight of any applications that you are trying to run. The TG01 is based on the Windows Mobile platform, which according to Stuff won’t be to everybody’s taste. However they have done some considerable customisation and this allows you to fine tune th OS to suit your needs.
So what are the TG01’s Competitors? Well the already mentioned LG Arena KM900 is one and the other would be the mighty Nokia N97, set for release in July of this year. WE are hoping to get our hands on all of these handsets in the very near future so that we can bring you a fair review to provide you with a clear winner. In the meantime, check out this video of the TG01in action

We are hoping that you will be able to get the TG01 on the following networks:

Samsung Tocco Ultra Edition Unveiled

Samsung Electronics have released their flagship mobile phone prior to the start of the Mobile World Congress with takes place in Barcelona between the 16th and 19th of February. Like many other phone manufacturers, wanting to start some hype about their big release of 2009 (incluing the Palm Pre, Toshiba TG01 and LG Arena).
Their release is not so much a brand new mobile phone but an upgrade of their best selling mobile of 2008, the Samsung F480 Tocco. The newest release is named the Samsung Tocco Ultra Edition (aka the S8300). It is really no wonder that the original Tocco was so successful, with great vale Tocco contracts available with free Sony PS3’s, Nintendo Wiis, PSP to name a few of the free gifts available.
What Samsung are doing is very clever in the current economic climate; they are tapping in on the success of the original Tocco. Therefore using the brand name of the Tocco as a marketing base for the new Tocco Ultra Edition. We expect to see something in the region of £5 million to be spending on the all marketing channels (including PR, online, press etc) on the Samsung S8330.

LG Arena MK900 flagship mobile phone

On Sunday the 8th of February we have seen a sneak preview of the newest LG mobile phone, the LG Arena MK900. Currently not all details are available in relation to the phone, however with the Mobile World Congress taking place between the 16th and 19th of February in Barcelona, I’m sure we will see some “surprises” in relation to this phone.

LG seem really excited about this latest addition to their multimedia mobile phone portfolio as the LG Arena will boast an impressive brand new user interface. The new 3D S-Class user interface will be based around a 3D cube (similar to the Apple iPhone) where a user can flip from one app to another by rotating the cube to display another surface of the cube.

The phone will have all the expected functionality including the pretty standard connectivity associated with a multimedia phone (7.2 Mbps HSDPA, Wi-Fi and GPS) and a cool 3-inch WVGA touch screen enabling a resolution of 800 by 480 pixels.

2009 is turning out to be a great year for mobile phones. Each manufacturer are keep to optimise their market share with the so called “credit crunch”. Not only will be see the LG Arena this year (at some point) but also the Nokia N97, Palm Pre, a range of Sony Ericsson phones (including the C510 Cybershot), HTC Max 4G and the LG Prada 2.
