HTC Wildfire comes to the UK

HTC WildfireThe HTC Wildfire is to be released in the UK as soon as the end of June Phones Blogged understands. The HTC Wildfire is essentially a stripped down version of the HTC Desire which will ultimately allow more people to enjoy the Android functionality dream. The Wildfire will allow users to get the most out of the many thousands of Apps without having to spend a mind blowing amount of money. OK it has a smaller screen and a slower chipset, but this shouldn’t put you off. You do get an awful lot of smartphone for your money. Incidentally it is expected to be free on a £20.00 per month contract when it is released later this year, although it is still unknown which network will get the exclusivity deal on it. Our bet is that T-Mobile will get it though. As soon as we know more we will let you know. If you want to sign up to be notified when it is available you can head on over to Best Mobile Contracts and sign up for updates. Enjoy!

Android on Pay-As-You-Go

T-Mobile PulseFinally, a mobile phone with the Android operating system with a pay-as-you-go deal; with T-Mobile launching the Pulse, mobile phone users who have been hoping to get a chance to own an Android are finally getting their turn. With hardcore tech fans shelling out wads of cash for the higher end Android smart phones, the T-Mobile is the common man’s Android.

Still, despite the cheaper price tag, the Pulse still has plenty of useful features. Everything you would expect from an Android smart phone is present in this device. Though we are still unsure what kind of processor this mobile is running, we can safely assume that it is fast enough to run not only the Android, but other applications as well. The Pulse will definitely not be running any graphic intensive touch apps.

Low Price at No Compromise

The challenge of bringing an Android smart phone to a wider audience is that you cannot afford to skimp out on features and capabilities. Lower hardware capabilities means losing much of the features that the Android has to offer. The Google Android deserves nothing less than the best of 3G technology. T-Mobile Pulse deals combine a great package of mobile phone and subscription services. The pay-as-you-go set up allows you to adjust your financial needs accordingly. Best of all, despite the low price of the Pulse, it still has all the hardware capabilities of a fully fledged 3G smart phone.

The Hardware

Despite the low price, the hardware specs of this mobile phone goes on par with most 3G devices. While not on the same level of the X10 or the Milestone, this phone still features some impressive tech. Manufactured by Huawei, this touch screen phone features a 3.5 inch capacitive display, a 5 mega pixel camera and solid networking capabilities. Of course, you get 3G HSDPA, EDGE, GPRS and Wi-Fi.

T-Mobile myTouch 3G-Top class smartphone!

T-Mobile myTouch 3GThe T-Mobile myTouch 3G is based on the previously released HTC Magic. The main aim of this phone is to build up on the success of its predecessor, the T-Mobile G1. All the features of the T-Mobile myTouch 3G are offered in a stylish sleeker package with a greater oomph factor! This phone is likely to be on the pricier side, but with a decent network package, might be worth it.

The body of the T-Mobile myTouch 3G will feature in 3 different color schemes-white, black and merlot. The weight of the device at 117.9 is not that much as the thickness of 15 mm allows you to slip it into your pocket without any problem. The most obvious difference in hardware is that the T-Mobile myTouch 3G does not have a keyboard, while the T-Mobile G1 did. Removing this bulk has really increased the device’s appeal to casual users looking for a compact device. The layout of the hardware of this phone is pretty easy to use as the main keys are situated right below the screen. The only questionable feature seems to be the inclusion of an unnecessary trackball, which just seems to be quite silly seeing that you can use the touch screen for navigation. The 3.2 inch screen is very easy to use as the bright and colorful display only requires only the slightest touch to activate any part of the screen. Haptic vibration during text input makes it even easier to use the touch screen as you know exactly where you touch the screen.

The connectivity options of the T-Mobile myTouch 3G are top class with easy access to 3G networks. 3G connectivity allows you to access a range of data networks which means that you can download files off the internet at high speeds.

T-mobile myTouch 3G- a promising phone

t-mobile-mytouch-3g-01The T-mobile myTouch 3G has a high speed network of data. This handset is more or less similar to Magic by HTC. The difference that demarcates HTC Magic from my Touch 3G is that this handset makes use of 3G network from T-mobile making use of 1700/2100 MHz frequency.

The hardware improvements seen in myTouch 3G is a comparatively big RAM, and a fast processor than G1. A virtual keyboard is missing in T-Mobile myTouch 3G, that accounts for its thin and lighter appearance in comparison to the G1. Another important development in myTouch 3G can be seen with Cupcake Android firmware. With this many new improvements have been built in T- mobile my-Touch version comprising the capability to write in messages in both portraits as well as landscape view. This smartphone supports a 3.2 inches touch screen with a resolution of 320 x 480 megapixels.

In the GPS application supported by T-Mobile myTouch 3G a search through voice function is also added. To search the pizza store which lies in the vicinity of the play you are positioned all you will have to do is say ‘pizza’ as reported on the authorized website. Your favorite music can also be personalized on this smartphone as it permits you to put in order your new music as well as old melodies mainly by artists that most interests you. Along with this you can tour the world with the WorldTour. This handset is formed to render the users with quick and easy performance as far as applications such as video recording, multimedia as well as camera is concerned. The Google applications such as GTalk and Google Voice can also be used with this smartphone.

T-Mobile G2 Touch. Rant o’clock

Pants! Darn! Oof!

Because there’s little that annoys us more at the moment than network providers renaming phones. Why is that? Two reasons, dear (and patient) reader. So sit back, relax and, as always, get ready for a rant:

1 – Mobile phone network providers like to re-name phones because it gives them an overinflated sense of self worth. Not that their sense of self worth could get much more inflated. So the HTC Hero is not the HTC Hero when T-Mobile get their sticky little mitts on it, it becomes instead the T-Mobile G2 Touch. And then all the dolts out there who don’t understand how the world works go, oohhhh, look at that, look at the pretty phone that T-Mobile have made (well, actually, the T-Mobile Touch is actually a hella ugly phone, but you get the point), aren’t they so clever to be able to make phones as well as providing network coverage. NO, THEY ARE NOT, THEY ARE NOTHING MORE THAN FAME THIEVES.

2 – People like T-Mobile like to pretend that they have lots of exclusive products that absolutely no one else has when in fact they don’t, they simply re-name and re-brand and, if you’re really lucky, re-colour something, then claim that the thing they’ve done so to is all theirs and no-one else’s and oohhh, aren’t you so lucky that we’ve done this for you. NO, WE ARE NOT LUCKY, WE ARE DUPED, CONNED AND TRICKED BY YOU YOU FAME THIEVES.

Erm, anyway. Glad we got that off our chests. For less ranting, more facting, check out this T-Mobile G2 Touch review. Or for some FLAGRANT LIES you can even check out the official page.

T-Mobile myTouch 3g. Different name, same gooey innards

There’s not that much to say about this thing, seeing as how we’ve already said what we wanted to say about the HTC Magic only a few days ago. Because the T-Mobile myTouch 3G is one of those name-change-only phones, one of those network exclusive things that is about as exclusive as the checkout queue at Aldi.

The T-Mobile myTouch 3G, or HTC Magic, or Google Ion, or Dave to its mates, is an all-singing/-dancing Google Android phone which makes it a winner with us, even if it comes with a few flaws along the way. There’s no jack socket for your 3.5mm headphones, don’t forget. So if you’re one of those people with headphones bigger than most babies heads, then the USB converter is going to be annoying you very soon indeed. And that 512MB of internal memory: come on! The Samsung i7500 comes with 8GB! What were they thinking.

Aside from that though, the myTouch 3G is running the newer, 1.5 version of the Android OS (codenamed, for some reason, Cupcake), so all your daily Google tasks and media fun (Search, Mail, Maps, etc.) will be flying along at a healthy pace, as the official site promises. Have a little look at this video, or read this T-Mobile myTouch 3G review for a fuller rundown of everything on offer with this nice little phone.

Samsung Pixon 12. How many megapixels?

Yawn…. Another handset trying to grab market share by adding a better camera. I don’t know if it’s just me, but bolting on more megapixels onto an old model doesn’t really do it for me. Yet that is exactly what Samsung have done with their “all new” Samsung Pixon 12. It seems that in a bid to increase market share, Samsung is releasing the Sony Ericsson Satio which is expected to be released later this year. Overall both handsets promise to offer great image quality, but is there really much more room for increased pixel quality images on your mobile phone. I feel that we should now be looking beyond purely just megapixels. We should be looking at optical zoom, new filters, better flash quality and more besides. 12 megapixels is great, but without a high quality lens, you will not see a marked difference image quality. I have mentioned before in other posts that we may not be far off a truly universal device that will allow users to leave their digital camera at home and just take a phone out with them. However if handset manufacturers are determined to simply increase the resolution on their handsets and not offer other features, it may take us a little longer to achieve this. So can we say that 12 megapixels is going to be the highest spec? I very much doubt it!

T-Mobile MDA Basic

Announced during the CeBit show on January, the T-Mobile MDA Basic is, as the name suggests, a touch screen phone which is fairly basic in the sense that the features aren’t really much to brag about, but is a handset which you would prefer to have as your second phone.

The T-Mobile MDA Basic weighs in at 110g and is 16mm thick, which is quite something considering that a phone much more advanced like the HTC Touch Diamond2 is only 13.7mm. The phone makes use of a 2.8 inch TFT resistive touchscreen which displays upto 65k colors. The TouchFLO user interface can be found, which really makes finger-navigation a very pleasant experience.

The T-Mobile MDA Basic has a RAM size of 128MB and a ROM capacity of 256MB, which is fairly manageable for a mid-range phone. Connectivity options include class 10 GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth v2.0 with stereo bluetooth support. The missing party here is 3G, whose absence is quite surprising considering that the phone has support for Wi-Fi!

A 2 MPIX snapper is on board, which can shoot photos upto 1600×1200 pixels in resolution. Videos can also be captured with the camera.

The MDA Basic runs on the Windows Mobile 6.1 platform, which has become the norm for non-Symbian phones. Contact features include SMS, MMS, e-mail and instant messaging support for most of the major email service providers. Another surprising absentee comes in the form of an FM radio, which is generally considered as a must for mid-range phones. Why these phones don’t have a simple feature like FM radio is fairly hard to understand. The usual Pocket Office (used for viewing and editing Word, PowerPoint, Excel files and viewing PDF files) is present, as is a media player which supports MP3 and AAC formats.

You can compare mobile broadband here and get yourself a good deal.
