The HTC 7 Mozart Comes With Strong And Unique Construction

The Taiwanese company HTC created their new 7 Mozart with higher quality than usual. It also has a new operating system to run it. Discover the features of the HTC 7 Mozart here in this snappy article.

The HTC engineers created the 7 Mozart with a unibody construction. The back of the handset shows an assymetrical construction with a mix of aluminum and plastic. Some could call it “artsy”. The size is not too large for a pocket or purse. The 3.7 inch screen is nearly fully featured with an acceleromter and proximity sensor. There is no Swype input and no manual keyboard for the 7 Mozart.

Looking on the inside, there is a fast one gigahertz processor made by the popular chip company Qualcomm. This is accompanied by 576 megabytes of RAM and 512 of ROM. All the former features help to give the HTC 7 Mozart speedy operation while opening and closing programs or during navigation. Internal memory is rated for eight gigabytes. There is no external storage available, that is, no MicroSD card slot.

One of the strong points of the HTC 7 Mozart is its camera. It is eight megapixels in power. It was given a Xenon flash instead of a LED style. This is superior to LED for taking photographs. There is also geo tagging, auto focus, face detection and video. The camera is competent enough to support high definition video in 720p format. The only problem will be getting those videos to other places, since there is no MicroSD card slot and no HDMI connector on the 7 Mozart.

The new Windows Phone 7 mobile operating system is running the HTC 7 Mozart. This is a redo of the older 6.5.3 and provides a hub connection system for easier navigation. It supports social networking sites as well as the regular Microsoft browser and word processing documents. Bing maps are included for free. The HTC Desire Z Brings Desire to Higher Desirability

Taiwan-based leader in smartphones HTC unveils its second full-QWERTY slider Android in the HTC Desire Z, a good 18 months after the first, the HTC Dream. Running the latest Android v2.2 Froyo, the new handset is powered by a Qualcomm MSM7230 engine clocked at 800 MHz. That’s a bit less muscled than the 1 GHz Snapdragon of the HTC Desire. From the aesthetics, it’s really a Desire that grew a QWERTY keyboard slider.

Great Flagship Features

Looking like the Desire when closed, the HTC Desire Z actually has the same the feature of the HTC Desire HD which is only distinguished by its larger 4.3-inch screen display. Instead you get a 3.7-inch capacitive S-LCD touchscreen with multitouch, WVGA (480 x 80) resolution, 16 million colors, accelerometer and proximity sensors.

Despite a set of flagship features, it is positioned as a more modest option than either the earlier Desire or its successor the Desire HD. It also boasts of social networking prowess that comes with Facebook, Twitter, Picasa, YouTube and Google talk integration.

The new HTC Desire Z is a cornucopia of data and telephony connectivity options. It’s 3G handset on the dual band UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA and a quad band GSM on 2G with class 32 GPRS/EDGE data speeds. Local connectivity gets WiFi 802.11 b/g/n with DLNA, Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP and microUSB v2.0 including GPS SatNav with A-GPS support.

Imaging gets a 5-megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash, face detection, geo tagging and video recording at 720p high definition while mobile entertainment gets the usual media playback features, a stereo FM radio with RDS and headphone listening in either wired (3.5mm jack) or wireless (A2DP) mode.

Internal memory gets 1.5 GB with 512 MB RAM and microSD expansion for up to 32GB. Its li-ion batters rated at 1300 mAh delivers up to 9.8 hours of call time on 2G, 6.6 hours on 3G with 430 hours on standby.

A Sinful Obsession: The HTC Desire

While a majority of mainstream mobile phone users have been consuming the pop phenomenon that is the iPhone, a relative newcomer is slowly making its way up – the hard way that is. With the HTC Desire, the Taiwan-based manufacturer is taking the more conventional path towards the consumer’s hearts – by coming up with a device that is not only all bark, but also has a lot of bite to go with it.

Making Waves

Let’s get things straight. We’re not claiming that the iPhone (in particular) doesn’t have the goods to back up the entire buzz that has and continues to surround it to this day. We actually believe otherwise as we consider it to be one of the greatest inventions of the modern age. However, we just think that the HTC Desire is a much better mobile phone. Why, might you ask? Well, we can give you two very good reasons.

Feature-Filled

The HTC Desire is definitely one of the most impressive Smartphones in the market simply because of its awesome set of features. For starters, its 3.7” AMOLED touch screen display delivers the most vivid image outputs at an amazing 480 x 800 pixels. It also has a cutting edge 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon for its processor which remains to be the most powerful in the market. And, there’s even an above-average 5-Megapixel snapper on board which can snap excellent quality photos. Last but not least, the Desire has the Google Android mobile operating system on board – enough said.

Value for Money

If that’s not impressive enough for you then maybe you should know that the HTC Desire retails at average price of £400. This means that at this considerably reasonable price, you’d be able to get all of the top-of-the-line features you’d expect from a Smartphone of this calibre. Or there are, of course, any number of great HTC Desire deals that’ll save you from having to make that one big expenditure. If you asked us, we’d rather go for the Desire than to spend a good 500 odd pounds for say, an iPhone 3GS.

Android 2.2 for HTC Desire Delayed to Q3 2010

Google’s Android is going to have trouble playing catch up to the already launched Apple iPhone 4 as the updates to several handsets has been announced to be delayed.

Originally, the first handset to have the new Froyo OS is the Google Nexus One, and it was expected that the HTC Desire (one of the best Android devices available) would also be getting a patch after a week. This did not push through and it appears that owners of the HTC made smart phone will have to wait for a while before an official 2.2 update gets released.

So far, the tale of the Android updates has been one of constant waiting and delays for many eager and excited users.

In terms of performance and capabilities, it is pretty hard to beat the Nexus One –featuring capabilities and add-ons that would make both casual and hardcore users happy, the Android OS has never been considered as lacking. But as for the release dates, Google has plenty of issues to deal with.

And the fact that when the updates do come out, they still suffer from compatibility issues. Fans would patiently wait for a delayed launch date if it meant that the final build will have fewer issues and no major compatibility problems. With the Android that is not the case.

For those who did not catch the reviews and coverage on the HTC Desire Android smart phone, here is a quick recap of the handset’s specs and figures. The phone comes with a nice big 3.7 inch AMOLED touch screen display, a 5 mega pixel camera, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 1GHz CPU, and of course, the Android 2.1 Éclair. The OS sports plenty of impressive Google features (such as Google Maps, Google Chat, Google Mail, Google Goggles, Street View, and others); it also uses the HTC Sense user interface.

HTC WP7 Device Details Released

Microsoft’s upcoming Windows Phone 7 mobile platform is due to come out later this year. LG has already revealed the details on their Panther handset –making it the very first WP7 device to be formally announced and now, HTC is joining the roster.

The HTC Mondrian smart phone is more than just an upcoming WP7 handset, it is also the first handset to be announced that will have a CPU running over 1GHz, the QSD8650-A Snapdragon processor that will be used in the Mondrian is clocked at a speed of 1.3 GHz –this hardware will prove to be useful specially when it comes to the gaming capabilities of the mobile platform. It has already been shown that the new OS will have 3D games. Microsoft’s XNA technology will allow for full 3D games to be playable even on a mobile phone.

Other details of the device include a 4.3 inch capacitive touch screen display and a camera with video and image recording capabilities. Of course, usual smart phone features such as Bluetooth, GPS, media playback, 2G/3G support and more are present in the Mondrian.

This device is definitely remarkable because of its high speed CPU. Though there are also rumors that a dual core Snapdragon may be in the works, the real focus is on technology that already exists.

In other HTC related news, the Taiwanese company is suing Apple for 5 patents that have been used in Apple’s touch screen devices. With Apple previously filing a similar case against HTC (which included 20 patents for hardware and software technologies), it makes perfect sense that they will now file their countersuit. The company has recently teamed up with Microsoft –presumably to arrange a deal for using MS patents. Many believe that with this move, HTC has secured its position against the larger Cupertino based operating system.

HTC Wildfire comes to the UK

HTC WildfireThe HTC Wildfire is to be released in the UK as soon as the end of June Phones Blogged understands. The HTC Wildfire is essentially a stripped down version of the HTC Desire which will ultimately allow more people to enjoy the Android functionality dream. The Wildfire will allow users to get the most out of the many thousands of Apps without having to spend a mind blowing amount of money. OK it has a smaller screen and a slower chipset, but this shouldn’t put you off. You do get an awful lot of smartphone for your money. Incidentally it is expected to be free on a £20.00 per month contract when it is released later this year, although it is still unknown which network will get the exclusivity deal on it. Our bet is that T-Mobile will get it though. As soon as we know more we will let you know. If you want to sign up to be notified when it is available you can head on over to Best Mobile Contracts and sign up for updates. Enjoy!

HTC Legend

Within the mobile phone industry, there is little doubt that the new HTC Legend device is one of the most keenly anticipated releases due to hit the market in the coming year. The Legend is set to take the space vacated by its one of its predecessors the HTC Hero, which was a very good phone in and of itself, and also compares well with HTC’s other new release the Desire.

When compared up and close many people feel though that the Legend looks more stylish and swanky that the Desire, and this can be principally put down to the fact that the Legend’s body and frame are manufactured and made from a single block of aluminium – much in the same vein as the Macbook’s unibody design that set the recent style trend for all laptop computers. The finish of the Legend is also as aesthetically and tactilely pleasing as the Macbook’s and could be straight out of the Apple design book, which puts it even further ahead of the Desire in the style stakes.

Within the phone itself the Legend utilises a design concept which their marketers refer to as ‘Hidden power’, the main idea being that design and function work in concert, and this is contained very much in the machined single piece body idea that negates the need for a separate frame and cover. This is good not only from a style point of view but also due to the fact that extra space is made available for components. As a result of this the Legend is easily able to get several improvements over the HTC Hero as it is able, with its design functionality, to pack a vibrant 3.2-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen.

The screen itself has HVGA resolution and is a joy to behold despite the fact that some other phones in the HTC line-up this year such as the Desire have a larger display, though it does have a number of integral improvements over previous incarnations of the HTC lines. For a start, the buttons are much more user-friendly and precise and now fit neatly into the bottom of the device’s display rather than taking up their own space as previously seen on phones such as the Hero. The previous trackball has also been replaced with an optical navigation button, a decision that reflects the general mood within the industry as trackballs are apt to fail more often – not an attractive proposition for those on 18-24-month contracts.

The Legend is also powered by the latest Android 2.1 operating system, something that affords excellent operation and speed and will please users. The Android is also overlaid by HTC’s Sense UI, which seems similar on first glance to the original Sense seen in the Hero which caused such a stir at its launch though HTC have upgraded the Sense since then and it is now replete with new features. Perhaps the biggest alteration to Sense is the ‘helicopter view’, known as ‘Leap’, which works in pretty well the same manner as Expose on the Mac. The Desire also features Friend Stream which acts in a similar fashion to MotoBlur as it combines Twitter, Facebook and Flickr all into a single stream, negating the need to follow people over separate platforms.

On the rear of the desire you will find a 5-megapixel camera with the welcome addition of an LED flash. Connectivity is also excellent through the Qualcomm MSM7227 processor which runs at 600MHz along with HSDPA, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. It also comes complete with the complete range of sensors such as a compass (an important part in many new Android apps), proximity sensor and GPS. Currently the release date is set for April of this year, and it is expected to be a major seller in many global markets.

HTC Goes All Out with Marketing

According to reports, it looks like HTC will be having its biggest marketing spend this year when they push the release of 4 different devices at the same time.

While we are never in the danger of being over saturated, this practically marks the first time we will be seeing so many significant devices coming from the Taiwan based mobile phone manufacturer.

Well, the mobile phone industry is no stranger to expensive and over the top budgets for marketing. Sony Ericsson did the exact same thing with the Satio –though that did not get good results, the Satio got suspended from sales and pull out of shelves due to firmware errors.

Anyway, the new HTC phones coming are as follows:

The HTC Desire is the penultimate HTC Android smart phone. This device served as the basis for the Nexus One. The stats alone tell the story, it comes with a 3.7 inch AMOLED capacitive touch screen, a 5 mega pixel camera with 720p D1 recording, and of course, a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU.

Following the Desire is the HTC Legend. This phone is the successor of the highly successful Android smart phone, the HTC Hero. The Legend has a 3.2 inch AMOLED touch screen, a 5 mega pixel camera, a 600MHz Qualcomm processor and a spiffy aluminum casing.

HTC has also announced that it will be releasing the HTC HD Mini which will be using the Windows Mobile 6.5.3 Maldives platform while the HTC Smart is a low end smart phone that is going to be an O2 exclusive device.

No word yet on exactly what kind of marketing we will be seeing, but since this is HTC’s biggest spend; expect to see major ad campaign for their upcoming products.

2010 HTC Line Up Promises New Androids

AndroidAndroid fans already have a lot to look forward to next year. Not only will the new Android 2.1 OS be officially out, but it will be seeing a lot of use. DROID Just got upgraded to 2.0.1 and Google seems to be cranking out updates like there’s no tomorrow.

On the mobile phone side, 2010 will see the launch of the Sony Ericsson X10 and the HTC Espresso (the Hero successor); not to mention Google’s own announcement that they too will be unleashing their own Android mobile phone featuring a version of the OS that no one has seen before.

And just when we thought that we already know what we should be expecting for next year, a recent leak of HTC’s upcoming devices more than doubled the number of upcoming Android phones. The leak was of a brochure that HTC would be presenting T-Mobile (which is why the images had “T-Mobile NATCO day” written on it); so far we have not confirmed if T-Mobile will be the first carrier that HTC has approached.

Anyway, the leak also showcased 3 business model WinMo 6.5 devices, but interest in the old 6.5 version is currently running low, even with the announcement of a capacitive touch screen version of the platform, everyone just wants to know more about the Androids.

Back to the Android devices, the five mobile phones are named Bravo, Legend, Salsa, Tide and Buzz. Most impressive of the group is the Bravo. This phone surpasses most smart phone in terms of overall hardware. The processor is the much acclaimed Snapdragon 1 GHz; the screen is an HD-capable 3.7 inch AMOLED capacitive touch screen, the built in 5 mega pixel snapper is capable of recording videos at 720p.

The other Android phones are also amazing, featuring integrated apps for Facebook, Twitter, and other networking sites, 600MHz and 528MHz processors, and capacitive touch screens of varying sizes.
