MotoBlur
Motoblur is not a phone. It is a service that is created to manage social networking needs of its users. Google Android developed this user interface which is intended to be installed and integrated into Motorola mobile phones.
Motoblur is a widget based system that brings together social networking portals that are increasingly becoming important to people’s social lives. With Motoblur, the user does not need to log into every social networking sites such as Myspace, Facebook, and Twitter separately.
Motoblur allows the phone to receive alerts on feeds and data from web portals. This is done through the integration of portal feeds and the operating system of Motoblur. The user will be able to see status updates, messages, posts, and emails from different web sources. This is particularly beneficial to someone who wants instant access to work and personal information anytime, anywhere.
The launch of Motorola’s new mobile handset Motorola CLIQ was matched with the introduction of Motoblur. Motorola CLIQ is one of the first phones with the Motoblur service. The Motorola CLIQ is sold as DEXT outside the United States. It is an Android based mobile phone enabled with Wi-Fi capability, 3G/HSDPA, 5 megapixel camera, and a video recording system that shows 24 frames every second. The phone also has a standard 3.4mm headphone jack, a smart QWERTY keyboard, an HTML Chrome web browser, and other applications that the Android community has developed.
One interesting feature of Motoblur is “remote delete”. When the phone gets lost or stolen, the user can remotely wipe out information in the stolen phone and restore all information in the new phone. Backup and restore software solutions will not be required by the user to protect and preserve information.
The promise of Motorola remains in the efforts of continuously launching mobile handsets that will be based on the Motoblur Android platform.
Vodafone 360 will be initially launched in 8 European countries Christmas of this year.
