Blackberry Pearl 9100: The Latest Addition To The Blackberry Family
It seems that the folks over at BlackBerry have been extremely busy and productive. Recent launches of the Storm 2 and the Bold 9700 were impressive enough. Now, it seems that the company will be following those with the BlackBerry Pearl 9100. There are not a lot of spec details concerning the phone. The ones that are available are mostly speculation. In this post, we will give you those because there is not a lot yet available, directly from the company. By all accounts, the 9100 is a similar, slicker version of the Blackberry 9700. However, there are some pretty significant differences. The former, it looks like, will not be using a QWERTY keyboard, but instead, will utilize a SureType design.
There is speculation that Blackberry’s newest mobile phone will use a single LED flash, an optical trackpad rather than a trackball, have WiFi and run on an OS 5.0.0.350. It is believed to have 3G capabilities and is set to be one of the most feature-rich smartphones on the market. Many “mobile phone techies” are quite excited about the prospects.
There have been a few pictures of the Blackberry Pearl 9100 released, though those don’t appear to be official photographs. Some of these sites have seemingly been forced to take them down. However, there a few of them which still have the photographs up.
The Blackberry Pearl 9100 looks like it is going to be a good one. It is similar in design to the Blackberry Bold 9700 but there are some important differences. The keyboard is reportedly being upgraded from a full QWERTY to a SureType, though there is some debate about whether or not this is an upgrade. Some people prefer the QWERTY keyboard. The battery is also likely to be redesigned. As stated above, the specs have not been officially released. Much more information will be available once the specifications are made public.
